"As Nas" definitie

Een oud Perzisch spel waarvan men zegt dat het de voorloper is van poker. Het schijnt te zijn ontstaan in de 16e eeuw, onder de naam As Nas. Dit spel werd gespeeld met 25 kaarten in 5 verschillende kleuren. Het spel lijkt een beetje op het hedendaagse 5 card stud, en had verschillende rangen als in three of a kind. Toen de Europeanen het spel begonnen te spelen noemde ze het "poque" of "pochen". Hoewel het poker dan oorspronkelijk afkomstig is uit Europa en het oude Persië, het is echt groot geworden in Amerika.
